1st day: Opatija
Arrival in Opatija at the afternoon, transfer to hotel, dinner and overnight stay. Opatija is a pleasant and lively town in the Kvarner Bay, a few kilometers from Rijeka. This town has a centuries-old tradition in tourism – it was once a resort for the nobility, of which the magnificent villas remain today. It has a mild climate that favors the lush vegetation.
2nd day: Opatija-Rijeka
After breakfast guided tour of the city Rijeka and Opatija. Visit of Trsat in Rijeka – the ancient medieval fortress and district that contains numerous secrets and valuable monuments. At Trsat, which stands on a hill 135 m above the center of Rijeka, is the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which has been a place of worship and gathering of the pilgrims for several centuries. This is Marian sanctuary, the oldest place of pilgrimage in Croatia, where it is always honored the Blessed Mother. Despite the various changes that happened throughout history, this sanctuary has never fallen into disrepair. Lunch in the restaurant during the tour, return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
3rd day: Plitvice Lakes
After breakfast departure for full day guided tour of the Plitvice Lakes. The Lakes complex, proclaimed a national park in 1949, is among the most beautiful creations of nature. In the valley between high rocky mountains there are sixteen beautiful lakes and ponds of a crystalline blue-green water, joined together by foamy and noisy waterfalls. (part of the route will take place with a small train, part on foot and finally a short boat ride). At the end, lunch at the restaurant and return to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
4th day: Island of Krk
After breakfast, departure for the full day guided excursion to the nearby island of Krk. Connected to the mainland by a long bridge, the island of Krk offers visitors a number of interesting views and beautiful landscapes. Arrival at Košljun-guided tour of the islet and visit of the Franciscan monastery. Lunch in the restaurant during the trip. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
5th day: Postojna Cave
After breakfast departure to Italy with a stop at Postojna cave, which for the last two centuries has attracted masses of visitors from all over the world. The cave has always been a challenge for intrepid explorers who, stepping into the subsoil progressed with patience and perseverance more and more deeply to the discovery of their secrets. The caves are about 20 km long, full of stalagmites and stalactites and are the only caves in the world visited by train. Guided tour and lunch. After lunch return to home.
